African Oasis Project:
http://africaoasisproject.org/
What I enjoy about this site is the incorporation of culture and texture. I additionally like on the homepage how you can click through the slide show. On the other hand I feel like it is hard to sort through all the content presented on the page because of how long the pages are. I would like to see a second tier of links within the main navigation spreading out the content. I could see this collage and integration of elements being a nice format for a blog, to give it personality and still tie it into the main organizations website.

Plant With Purpose:
http://www.plantwithpurpose.org/
I enjoy the simplicity and layout of this site. I particularly like the navigation it is subtle, consistent and easy to use. Though I would like to see what is under each section without having to click on it (a rollover!). Additionally I would like to see more content on the home page. While they name of the organization hints at what they do, I want it to be obvious when I enter into the site. On another note I find the “Team” section to be executed in a unique and surprising manner. Once again it is consistent and simple, though I would like to see a little more info without have to do anything.

West Africa Initiative:
http://westafricainitiative.org/index.php

This site is straight forward and works. It is consistently organized and easy to access all the content. With that being said I find it boring. It is a great start and set up of image, content, and navigation, but also needs more. Also it really bothers me that whenever I click the DONATE button another window opens and I am transported to another page. This prevents me from going back to the page I was just on, and kind of confuses me. Lastly, the color choice is bold and overwhelming, but a place for inspiration in being memorable.

Medical Mission Foundation:
http://mmfworld.org/index.html

This site has a nice initial feel and look to it. It is intuitive and simple. Though lacks content on the homepage. Also, once you get further into the site the design becomes less appealing and consistent. Overall I like the foundation of the website, but want to see it pushed further and become more engaging. If this were to happen I think the striking nature of the homepage would carry out…

Global Oneness Project:
http://globalonenessproject.org

I enjoy how this site works. Its not your typical set up for navigating through a site and accessing content. Additionally, I find the first screen to be very engaging in its layout and movement. The viewer doesn’t exactly know the purpose of it, but as you learn more about the project it makes sense and pulls to the viewer in. I also enjoy the idea of the website and creating a conversation between people about different issues and initiating the conversations through various medias.

Live Mocha: http://www.livemocha.com

Live Mocha is an interesting social networking site based on the idea of bringing together people with the common goal of learning a new language. It doesn’t matter what language you are trying to learn, they have them all. It is based on the idea that native speakers will help those trying to learn their language and in return those “native” speakers will receive the same assistance in the language they are trying to learn. The only down side is it isn’t technically free. The networking and interacting with other people is free, but the resources in information Live Mocha offer costs a little money (and I mean little around $5/month).

Write In My Journal: http://www.writeinmyjournal.com

This is a great idea. It is a new way of journaling based on other people’s lives. Record you life and where you are going and who you meet by asking other people to write in your journal. Addtiontally, it breaks the barrier of isolation the seems to be so common now and days. People around us are so often tuned into ipods, computers, or talking on cell phones that there is a lack of simple hellos and daily interactions. So step out of the comfort zone create new experiences and relationships with the people around you (whether you know them or not).

Accomplishments: http://www.museumofconceptualart.com/accomplished

This is a random page, but a great idea. What have people accomplished by your age? It allows for the random compiling of information, facts, and stories based off of one thing, AGE. Type in your age and up pops a list of accomplishments from various people (well known and not).  The creator of the page as well encourages people to submit their own age and accomplishments, to expand the database and see what people are up to. Beware though, it can make a person feel like an underachiever.
